Christmas trees are easily the most popular decorations at this time of the year, but not everyone likes traditional decorations.

Here are eight unusual Christmas trees that people have put in their homes.

Sunflower Christmas Tree

Sunflowers are great decorations at any time of the year. They are mainly seen around in summer, but why not use them to decorate your Christmas tree?

These kind of trees have become more popular in recent years as sunflowers work really well when associated with tinsel and string lights.

‘The Portal’ Christmas Tree

The Portal Christmas Tree trend was established in 2012. In this case, the bottom two thirds of the artificial tree are stuck on the floor, while the top is attached to the wall.

People usually put colorful decorations to form a circle which makes it look like the tree is making its way through a portal.

Diamond Christmas Tree

A diamond Christmas tree sounds fancy, right?

Well, it is, but make sure you don’t allow your children or pets to get too close to it…

Upside-Down Christmas Tree

We can all argue that the past couple of years have been nothing short of crazy. Due to the COVID pandemic, people have had to make changes in their daily lives.

An upside-down Christmas tree seems the perfect depiction of this craziness. Not to mention a floorspace saver.

Just make sure you attach it to the ceiling properly.

Lipstick Red Christmas Tree

In more colourful Christmas tree news, journalist Jen Thomas put up this 7-ft lipstick red tree in her home for 2021.

It’s complete with black and white baubles and has a black star on top.

Blood Red Christmas Tree

Remember this? In 2018, when Donald Trump was president, his wife, Melania Trump, decided to put up “blood red” trees in the White House, sparking plenty of debate.

At the time, former First Lady’s office said: “The choice of red is an extension of the pales, or stripes, found in the presidential seal designed by our Founding Fathers. It’s a symbol of valor and bravery.”

Bed Slats Tree

Ideal for those who love sustainability, an alternative Christmas tree made of bed slats brings joy and colour to any room. It was designed by a volunteer from the furniture recycling charity Richmond Furniture Scheme in London.
